UB HEALS worked to organize a foot and vaccine clinic which took place at Holy Cross Shelter in November. Our goal was to focus on caring for those who may be predisposed to conditions such as neuropathy, infection, and injury. By teaming with the Erie County Department of Health, UB HEALS was able to administer COVID-19 and influenza vaccines to individuals.

Alpha Omega Alpha is committed to preparing future leaders in medicine and health care. Leadership is about making a positive difference and can be learned through education, observation, and experience, and working with leader mentors. Service learning may provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop as servant leaders. Only one team from each school may be nominated for the award.

$5,000 for the first year, $3,000 for the second year, $1,000 for the third year.

Top 10 Finalist for the United Way Next Generation United "Pitch 10" Grant
A grant application recently submitted by the medical student leaders of UB HEALS has been selected by the United Way Next Generation United Board as one of the the top 10 proposals of millennial-led nonprofits engaged in meaningful service aimed at impacting and improving our community through service, collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

ECMC Doctor's Day Honorary Gift Recipient
Honorary Guests at ECMC's Annual "Doctor's Day" Celebration. Awarded a $5,000 donation in recognition of community service and embodying the ideals of humanistic medicine.
